What we store

• Your email address, when you sign up to unlock the full suite, with the date, the approximate country your connection comes from, and where you signed up (the app).
• An anonymous open count. Each time the app is opened, a counter goes up by one. It contains no email, no cookie and no identifier, so it cannot be tied to you.
• On your own device only: your settings, drum patterns, setlists, autosaved projects, and a note that you have signed up. These never leave your browser.

What we do not store

Your microphone input, recordings, songs you load, and projects are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to us.

Why we keep your email

To count how many people use Fretnook so we can size our servers and plan, and to send an occasional update about new features. We do not sell your email or share it for other companies' marketing.

Who handles the data

The site and sign-up list run on Cloudflare (hosting, Workers and a D1 database). If we show ads from an ad network such as Google AdSense, that network may use cookies or similar identifiers to show and measure ads; the app first asks whether you accept personalized ads or only non-personalized ones, and you can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser. Recording submissions on the Upload page go through Formspree.

Your choices

• Delete your email any time: open the app, press Subscribed at the top, then Delete my email & unsubscribe. Or email us and we will remove it.
• Sign out of a device from the same place; this keeps your email on our list but locks the full suite on that device.
• Every update email will include a way to opt out.

How long we keep it

Your email is kept until you delete it or ask us to. Anonymous daily counts are kept as totals.

Children

Fretnook is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their emails.
